Home decor // Storage

These are some of our home storage ideas we came up with to make things a little easier and to be able to keep things in place without looking a mess. Id still love some extra storage furniture in my house but its just the cost, so it just has to go onto the list of to do things which is a very big list at the moment.

The farmers market 'key/letter holder' is from i think the Gift Company in junction 32 they sell lots of quirky little items like this and furniture too. This was £12.99 and as you can see we hang pretty much anything we can on there as one of the hooks has broken. Oops!

The shelf is from Ikea which i bought last year it was super easy to put up and was really cheap, they did them in different sizes too. I keep all Avas books on there which is a bad idea as there is a sofa underneath which she climbs onto to reach the books. It will be getting changed once we change the living room around.

Moving on upstairs into our bathroom we have some bits that really come in handy. I think storage is a big thing when it comes to a bathroom especially if you've got a very small bathroom like ours and a child.

The frog bath net was from Morrisons and it comes in useful! Anyone with children should definitely get ones of these. It was only £1.99 and it never drops of the wall tiles. Plus Ava can reach it when shes in the bath. The bathroom corner shelves where from Argos and they just screwed into the wall. Again perfect for storage with a small bathroom, we haven't done anything drastic with decor in the bathroom yet as you know from my last blog were wanting to rip it all out and start again.

Last thing in our bathroom has to be this super handy towel holder from Argos which was about £8.99 and hangs on the back of our bathroom door which is near a radiator.

Next place we have a few storage items is our daughters bedroom, again with a child storage is a must, especially for all their toys and books. Two of these items where from Ikea but the carrying plastic box was from Asda.

The net which hangs from a hook in her ceiling we stack with nappies! we don't use it as often now but when she was a newborn we had it full. But it can hold all sorts. Toys, Clothes etc. The bookshelf is from Ikea and we stack all her books in it and some extras that we might need at hand. For decor we added AVA letters which was from Victoria Garden Centre in Featherstone. Originally in the old house i had her coats hooks on them but as shes getting older and we've moved into our own house the shelf is now above her draws so no space for long coats.

Last of all is our main bedroom which has a couple of storage bits, obviously we have a wardrobe and draws but i didn't want to take photos of the obvious. The side table we have matches our wardrobe and draws so you can imagine what they look like. I also have a dressing table but hoping to get a smaller one soon as its taking too much space in our bedroom.

The side table, wardrobe and draws where from my parents bedroom which they had in their old house. I just keep a lamp on the side table with a canvas i won of my photography and a basket to store odd bits and bobs.

I keep my make up brushes in a jar i got from Ikea which broke, it had a lid to begin with but once the hinge broke i took the lid off completely.

To store my statement jewelry i use a holder i got from Wilkinsons which is really old now and its just screwed into the side of my wardrobe above the draws so Ava cant reach and grab them.
